As a founding member and lead singer of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, Gerard Way has written and performed anthems, ballads and protests that have spoken directly to a deeply loyal fan base.  In more than a decade MCR released 53 songs over one gold and three platinum albums.  They sold out world tours, won numerous awards, redefined the music video, influenced fashion, offered hope and thrived far beyond the expectations of most onlookers.  MCR came from New Jersey, made modern rock modern art and left a permanent imprint in their wake.

While continuing to release music, including his critically acclaimed solo album Hesitant Alien, Gerard’s mission today continues on a global frequency.  In 2016 he returned to work on comic books full time, a medium that had previously yielded the Eisner Award winning series The Umbrella Academy.  2019 saw Umbrella Academy adapted into a hit Netflix show.  DC’s Young Animal is his publishing line within DC Comics, looking to break every conceivable standard in terms of convention and storytelling.  Using cult-favorite characters such as the Doom Patrol and Cave Carson Gerard is writing and curating the line alongside a group of other creators he has hand selected.

Gerard Way lives in Los Angeles, CA with his lovely wife and daughter.  He is grateful to continue doing what he loves.
