My name is Johnny Parker II and I'm a comic/manga creator, teacher, and podcaster from Detroit, Mi. Over the past 10 years, I've self-published my own stories and have traveled around the country selling my books at SDCC, Emerald City Comic Con, and many others. Many of the comics I write are inspired by the need I see for representation. My work has also caught the eye of a few publishers, and my comic The Black Man’s Guide to Getting Pulled Over was released through Microcosm Publishing, and was nominated for Best One-Shot by Broken Frontier in 2023. I’m currently working on some projects for other publishers, and I have a new book out from IDW titled Godzilla Rivals: Mothra vs. Moguera. Ultimately, I like to tell stories that are different from the norm and feature unique characters.
