Fang Yili is a China-born artist based in Los Angeles with over 17 years of experience in illustration and visual storytelling. Her work blends the aesthetics of Japanese manga with the narrative depth of European comics, creating a distinctive cinematic style.
She is the founder of Fang Fang Comics and the creator of several original titles, including Butterfly Tears, Beauty, and Lineage. Her work focuses on dark, emotional storytelling, often incorporating horror and psychological themes, while drawing inspiration from historical narratives, cultural folklore, and classical literature.
She is an active presence on the U.S. convention circuit, attending 15–20 comic conventions annually across multiple states, where she connects directly with readers and collectors.
