A native of Long Island, New York, Guggenheim practiced law at one of Boston’s most prestigious firms before getting hired on the writing staff of David E. Kelley’s Emmy-winning show about Boston attorneys, The Practice.
Since then, he has worked in a variety of mediums including television (Law & Order, Arrow), movies (Green Lantern, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), comic books (Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men), videogames (Call of Duty 3), and prose (In Any Lifetime).
He has worked regularly with Greg Berlanti and Guillermo del Toro and written scripts for Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal, and Stephen King.
He has received multiple WGA Award nominations and won an Emmy for Best Writing for his work on Trollhunters.
