Nathan Cayanan

Nathan Cayanan is a Filipino American writer, illustrator, and college professor based in Los Angeles. A DC Comics Milestone Initiative alum (2022), he has written official stories for DC Comics featuring characters such as Icon and Dr. Light. His recent DC work includes contributions to I Know What You Did Last Crisis and the holiday anthology I Saw Ma Hunkel Kissing Santa Claus.
He is the writer and illustrator of the graphic novel Suspicious Activity (Hot Tropiks) and co-creator of the sci-fi series Stellar Remnant. Nathan has over 20 years of teaching experience and currently teaches at Cal State Fullerton. He is a two-time teaching award recipient and was named to CSULB’s 49 Under 49.
He has appeared as a guest at the LA Times Book Festival and Free Comic Book Day events, including a signing alongside Arrowverse actress Emmie Nagata (Dr. Light).
