Meet the Judges

Costume and prop making has been a long standing hobby of Steven Meissner of SoloRoboto Industries. He attended his first SDCC in 2007 and by 2009 his love of prop making had turned into his own small business. After years of work honing his skills and as his list of completed projects became more and more impressive, his business grew into his full time job and by 2012 he has moved to Los Angeles to continue the growth. Now working out of his recently upgraded commercial shop Steven continues to enjoy working on commissions for both cosplayers and private collectors, with plenty of shiney chrome passing through his shop for many of your favorite E-Sports events. Prop and costume building is an ever evolving process he loves to explore every day!
Kit Quinn is a cosplayer who has been enjoying and working in the hobby since her first San Diego Comic Con back in 2007. She has had the joy of starring in a web series on Stan Lee's World of Heroes, being named A Person of the Year for LA Weekly, and has placed in numerous costume contests over the years. Some of her favorite builds include Hades with a color changing wig, a Siren from Tron (her favorite movie,) and her Dr. Mrs. The Monarch from the Venture Bros. She’s excited to once again be returning to LA Comic Con’s costume contest and can’t wait to see everyone’s amazing builds.
Evil Ted worked in the movie industry doing visual effects, prop, and model making for 28 years. He worked on films and television shows such as Fifth Element, Guyver, Titanic, Hunger Games, Xena Warrior Princess, and Criminal Minds. He’s known around the world for his YouTube tutorials teaching cosplayers how to make foam armor and props. After many years of working in Hollywood, Evil Ted decided it was time to take all the tips and tricks he learned over the years and make them available to the everyday builder, he wants to take the intimidation out of building. He is a firm believer that it’s passion over talent, and that anyone can learn to build. He loves cosplay and the community and loves supporting and assisting new builders in the learning process.
Jacqueline Goehner is a long time cosplayer with nearly 20 years of dedication to the craft and almost 15 to costume design and fabrication. She is best known for her Witchblade, Red Sonja, Princess Zelda and Dejah Thoris cosplays, but is also remembered for her Cosplay Melee episode win. She continues to costume design for film and television to this day, but also co-owns and is a chemist at WestmoreFX and Underground Cosmetics, specializing in fx makeup, adhesives, and color.

The judges are selected from individuals in the cosplay and costuming communities who excel at craftsmanship, design and have extensive backgrounds in costuming/prop creation.
