Takeshi Kusao is a legendary Japanese voice actor whose dynamic performances have defined some of the most iconic characters in anime history. With a career spanning over 35 years, Kusao has brought energy, emotion, and unforgettable personality to roles beloved by fans across generations.

He is best known as the voice of Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT, portraying both the courageous teen from a post-apocalyptic future and the younger, mischievous version with heart and humor. His portrayal of Trunks—especially the Future Trunks saga—remains one of the most celebrated in anime.

Kusao also made waves as the lead character Hanamichi Sakuragi in the classic basketball anime Slam Dunk, endearing himself to fans with his loud, brash, and unexpectedly lovable performance. His work continues to resonate in more recent roles in Black Clover, as well as appearances in Rurouni Kenshin, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Saint Seiya, and many others.

With his versatile vocal range and deep emotional delivery, Kusao has voiced heroes, hotheads, and heartfelt icons alike—cementing his place in the anime hall of fame. Now, he’s making his way to Akiba Station at L.A. Comic Con for a rare U.S. appearance. Catch him on Saturday and Sunday for autographs, photo ops, and a panel fans won’t want to miss.
