Yuriko Yamaguchi is a beloved and prolific Japanese voice actress known for bringing to life some of the most iconic characters in anime history. With a career spanning over three decades, her work has left a lasting mark on fans around the world.
She is best known as the original voice of Nico Robin in One Piece, the sharp-witted archaeologist and Straw Hat Pirate whose calm intelligence and mysterious past have made her a fan favorite. In Pokémon, she voiced one of the most recognizable characters in anime, Nurse Joy, lending warmth and kindness to the character who helps trainers across the Pokémon world. Yamaguchi also delivered a powerful performance as Ritsuko Akagi in Neon Genesis Evangelion, the brilliant and conflicted NERV scientist at the heart of the series’ emotional and philosophical complexity.
