Steve McGarry is one of Britain's most prolific and widely-published cartoonists. In the UK, his daily strips include “Badlands,” which ran for a dozen years in The Sun, “The Diary of Rock & Pop” in The Star and “Pop Culture” in Today. Magazine clients range from Look-In and Oink! through to SIforKids, Viz and MAD.
His comic strips “Biographic” and “Kid Town” are currently syndicated to more than 200 papers, including The NY Daily News, Boston Herald and Washington Post.
At the outset of his career he worked extensively in the music biz, designing 18 record sleeves, including one for Joy Division which went on display at MOMA in New York.
As a story artist, he worked on “Despicable Me 2,” “The Minions,” and “The Secret Life of Pets."
A two-term former President of the National Cartoonists Society, he later served 8 years as NCS Foundation President. Honors include Illustrator of the Year awards from the NCS and the Australian Cartoonists Association, and the Silver T-Square.
